Paul Blair, known professionally as DJ White Shadow (DJWS), is a Grammy-winning American music producer, DJ, and songwriter. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was raised on a farm before his family relocated to Detroit. His eclectic musical style is shaped by that rural upbringing, early exposure to Detroit’s legendary techno scene, and international studies in Japan. Though Blair has worked in the music industry from a young age, he rose to prominence by producing and co-writing major tracks on Lady Gaga’s Born This Way and ARTPOP, as well as contributing to the Oscar- and Grammy-winning A Star Is Born soundtrack.
In addition to his work with Gaga, Blair has collaborated with too many A-List artists to mention. He has composed music for film, television, and advertising—earning wide recognition including a Clio Award. He has held several corporate roles, notably serving as global music director for W Hotels, where he led the development of in-hotel recording studios to support traveling artists. An entrepreneur and advocate for emerging talent, Blair continues to shape the music industry through mentorship and innovation. He is currently producing and executive producing multiple studio films, including supervising score and soundtrack and developing his latest creative project, DISCO_NECT.
